Creating a Group in Figma
A group is a combination of several layers into a separate group. This is necessary so that the layers are always in order and it is convenient to access several objects at once.
To create a group, select the desired objects and press Ctrl + G.
In an open group, we can see which layers fall into this group. We also need to give this group a name for better orientation.
What is the logic of the group itself?
In order not to access all the layers, we can access the group itself and interact with it. When double-clicking, we seem to go down below and already select a layer. Also, a specific layer is selected if you hold down Ctrl.
You can also create groups inside a group. Select several objects ➡️ Ctrl + G.
How to disband a group?
Select it and right-click ➡️ Ungroup. The group itself disappears, and the objects that were in it, of course, remain.
A group cannot exist without internal content. If you select all the layers that are in a group and drag them out of it, the group will automatically disappear.
How do I place a new object in a group?
In the layers panel, simply drag it into the group. The group boundaries will immediately change, indicating that they are defined by the content within the group.
To get a specific element out of the group, you just need to drag it out in the layers.
A group has the ability to use a fill. By setting a fill for a group, we recolor all the elements in it. Of course, you can recolor them individually in different colors, but remember that the fill for a group applies to all its elements.
Everything works the same way in a group, both with effects and styles.
A group can be turned into "auto lauout" (Auto lauout) by clicking on the "+" on the right opposite Auto lauout.
You can turn it into a frame - on the right, where our group (Group), click on the check mark and select Frame. In the same way, we can make a group back from a frame.
A group, although it does not have its own size, allows you to change its area if you drag its edges. Objects inside the group will be deformed. Only the text is not deformed, but adjusts to the size of the group.
